Be Strong and Courageous

We are coming into the last days of this age, you know it in your heart, and you feel it in your bones. Everything is lining up just like the word of God says, it’s happening right before your eyes. The first seal of Revelation 6:1 may have already been opened and the rider on the white horse is conquering as nations fall one after the other to Islam and hatred, being disguised as democracy.

It is very interesting that the very first group of people mentioned in Revelation that are thrown into the lake of fire that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death are the “Cowardly” (Revelation 21:8). Let it never be said of us as followers of Jesus that we lost our fighting heart and became cowards. So many Christians around the world are being severely tested for their faith and over 150,000 a year are being martyred because they are not cowards and refuse to renounce Jesus is their Lord and Savior. In America where there is freedom of Worship, Christians have no idea of counting the cost of being a true believer in Christ. What will happen when America is tested, and the test will come, as our freedoms are being taken away little by little and the rights of Christians are being dismantled daily by our government as it heads towards socialism and all signs of the freedom of religious expression and liberties are being taken away by the courts in the land? I am so amazed that so many people in the churches of our land are in complete denial and apathy. Just look at what has happened to Europe.

Hebrews 10:30 has some very sobering thoughts: “How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of Grace?” In other words, becoming a coward or denying Jesus when persecution comes, even after you were saved. “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay” and again, “The Lord will judge His people.” “It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” But remember the former days, when after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated. (In America the worst you got was friends and acquaintances mocking you for becoming a Christian), but in other countries, their life is on the line.

“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.” For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.” “For yet in a very little while, He who is coming (Jesus) will come, and will not delay. But My righteous shall live by faith; and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” “But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul (Heb 10:39).”

Christians deny Jesus by their silence. Their silence at work, afraid of the political correctness of the land. Afraid of what it might cost them, even perhaps their job. Now I am not saying to proselytize, but to stand up for Jesus and take some heat if necessary. Not being a coward in your daily lives, and standing up for the truth and what you know to be right. In foreign countries, the church is underground in many nations and declaring your belief in Jesus can cost you your head or the destruction of your family. To meet in secret to worship is a must or be killed. But in America, that is not the case, yet, anyway. However; it could become the case very soon, within the next five years, if things keep heading the way they are going.

God says “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. (Deu 31:6) And again in Psalms 56:11 and 118:6 “In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can mere man do to me? The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” and in Hebrews 13:6 “So we may boldly say; The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Have a holy fear of God Almighty who is pure love and gave His Son for you and me.

Everything is being shaken right now. Nations, governments, cities, towns, villages, people and anything that can be shaken. “For He has promised, saying “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” (Heb 12:26) The end of the age is upon us and all of us will be tested when the perilous times arrive in full force which is beginning even now. Will you be ready? Will you be strong? Will you be courageous?
