The Religious Spirit wants Punishment

The religious spirit wants to punish you and it is prevalent in a majority of churches today. What it really is, is man trying to be righteous outside of a relationship with God. The religious spirit becomes a set of rules. It is religious activity that we never let get to our heart. It is living a life of fake righteousness to show men, not God, that we have it all together. Jesus will say on that judgment day, “depart from me, I never knew you, but it does not have to be this way.

When you hear the phrase “..give your heart to God or receive Him into your life,” it means to come as you are with repentance for your sinful life and lifestyle and come into agreement with God’s word believing that Yeshua (Jesus) has paid the price for all your sins. It means knowing that grace is God loving you in spite of yourself and who you have become in life, living sinfully and without hope for eternal life.

The religious spirit is totally demonic and is leading millions to hell convincing them it’s what they do and the evil doctrine of works that gets them to heaven instead of the free gift of God by grace through our faith by repenting and confessing that Jesus is Lord, the Son of God and rose from the dead. As good as many works are, they can never take the place of the blood Jesus shed for our sins. Being deceived and tricked by this evil spirit to follow works, any works for salvation does exactly what the enemy wants it to do. That is to make the blood of Jesus of no effect, in other words Jesus is not enough, you have to do more and things and works which is the number one lie of the enemy. This way the religious spirit can condemn you on a daily basis and flood your mind with thoughts like “you’re not good enough and you have to do more; then accuse you of all the past sins and mistakes you have made. Those who try to live by the law will be judged by the law. Thank God we don’t have to be who live by grace.

Jesus said in Luke 22 “This cup (blood) which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.” Salvation is in His Blood, not works or baptism or anything else. Then in Matt.26:28 Jesus again said it like this: “Drink from it, all of you; “for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness (remission) of sins.” It is faith in the blood of Jesus, the Son of God that saves you! The Apostle Paul said it this way in Ephesians 1:13: “In Him (Yeshua Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins of our trespasses, according to the riches of His Grace.” And later on in the same chapter in verse 13 “…the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise who is given as a pledge of our inheritance,..”

The religious spirit hates your freedom in Christ and those who love living by the law and rules hate your freedom in Christ. For now you are free from sin and death. Romans 8:1 says it this way; “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Oh how the religious spirit hates this verse! The religious spirit condemns others including you. It looks for all your mistakes and failures and then by mental confusion and worry tries to punish you with stress and guilt that you’re not worthy and must do the list of things to become righteous. None of us are worthy, not a single person; but that is not the issue, so don’t buy into it. The issue is we are forgiven by the blood of Jesus who died for us and shed His blood for us and rose again!

You want freedom in your life? Of course you do. Then love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself; against these there is no law. And if you do this, you will do well and not be prone to sin. So next time the enemy comes to you trying to condemn you, just believe Jesus and His word and speak it out loud, “it’s covered under the blood.” And if you do sin, just go to God and ask forgiveness, who forgives us when we ask from the heart….

Finally “Remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the common-wealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ, for He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances…….(Eph: 13-15)
