Baby Boomers Religion

The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent men take it by force.
From the time John the Baptist began preaching, the response has been violent, whether by vicious opponents or enthusiastic supporters. And so it is still today……
Jesus said “Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”(Matt. 10:28) What percent of people today are afraid to die by the hand of men? If we are walking in the light as He is in the light and obeying the gospel of the Kingdom and are born again, then perfect love casts out fear and death is just graduation to the Heavenly Kingdom of God.
Jesus said “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” “For I came to set a man against his father and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in–law against her mother-in –law; and a man’s enemy will be the members of his own household.” “You will be hated by all because of my name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.
I remember reading this the first time and taking offense at this statement. I thought how is this possible? Then I clearly remember when I got born again how my friends and family rejected me. As long as I was out living in the world, there was no problem, but when I gave my life to Jesus and started changing my lifestyle and living right, that’s when my family had issues with me. My parents did not speak to me for over two years, and my dad was furious because I dared to leave his religion of works and ordnances to become free and saved by grace through faith in the Son of God. Unless we are born again of the Spirit of God, we will not enter the Kingdom of God. Most of my friends mocked me and left because I would not do the things they wanted to do. Even to this day my brother and my sisters stay at arm’s length and think I have gone over the top. Many profess to be followers of Jesus, but their life proves otherwise. It’s by your fruits you are known, not just your words. In today’s world, many Christians are Christians in name only. Jesus said take up your cross daily and follow me. If someone is not following the gospel and obeying it, living the best they can to be unstained from the lust and sin of this world, then they are living in compromise, lukewarm and in danger. I’m not saying to revert back to rules and regulations and trying to live by the law at all, but I am saying if you are really born again, your heart should love the Lord God and your neighbor and your desire to sin has diminished by 99%.
Sometimes caused by the chaos and tragedies of life, even born again Christians can just throw up their hands and quit for a season, but that season is filled with stress and guilt and longing to come back to God. Many run away from God when sin enters their life after getting saved, which is our nature as fleshly humans, but the truth is, we should run back to God who loves us, not away from Him. Some say “oh but you don’t know what I have done, God will never take me back.” Sin does lead to death, but all sin can be forgiven if we repent from our hearts and return to God. Our father states this over and over in scripture. Even speaking to nations God wants repentance and a returning to Him and then He will forgive our sin and heal us. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world; all the sins of the world and all our sins were all in the future when he died for us. The blood cleanses us all.
The Kingdom of God is suffering violence today and most of the violence is coming from the Islamic Radical Muslims all over the Middle East and in North Africa, but there is also violence rising up all over the world and even in the U.S. by haters of Jesus and haters of Christians and Jews. They are violently changing laws to stop the freedom of speech and expression and religion. Satan is of course behind all this spiritual warfare going on against the Kingdom of God, but make no mistake God said even the gates of hell will not prevail over us and the gospel of the Kingdom of God.
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me”, Jesus said. The things of this world start to grow strangely dim as you become closer and closer to our Father in heaven. Following Jesus is an exciting life, and being a Christian is a process, a process of putting off more and more of ourselves daily and trusting more and more in our God. “This is eternal life that you believe Jesus is the Son of God and the father raised Him from the dead and His blood was shed for the sins of the world. God will give you another comforter, the Holy Spirit when you ask Him. May the peace that passes all understanding abide on every person reading this blog as they surrender their hearts to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords; Jesus the Christ…..
