God Can’t Anoint Your Avatar

As the Bible says knowledge will be greatly increased in the last days and men will run too and fro across the earth. We are living in those days! Social media has exploded around the world with up to the moment Tweets, hourly Facebook updates, and never ending Fantasy Worlds of online virtual worlds where anyone can pick an Avatar and be totally unidentifiable, incognito and secretly slip into worlds and virtual relationships never before imagined by the public at large. Games like Second Life, IMVU, ourWorld, Moove online, WeeWorld and Migo Land are but a few of places teens and adults go to try to escape the reality of this down fallen world but in most cases fall into worlds where sin and perversion are so rampant, they wind up getting bound up by emotional evil at it best with an addicting pull on their souls like some drug that is hard to break.

Unfortunately, many Christians have also taken this tumble into the Virtual Worlds by justifying it as “not real” or “just fantasy”, but are so bound up in the games of sin, they cannot break away from the thrill of it all without anybody knowing or seeing who they really are in real life. The Avatar becomes their true alternative version of themselves, free to do anything they would never do in real life, but think that there are no consequences to sinning heavily in their online virtual worlds. The problem is all sin is just that, “sin,” and the consequences of sin is always death in some form. It could be death in relationships in real life, or leading to death of your soul for eternity. At one point long ago I was involved in virtual worlds and so I know from experience, they are very sinful, addicting and can cause serious issues in a persons real life. Repenting and turning away from this is the only way to escape the bound up way of this lifestyle of online virtual worlds. Asking God for forgiveness and stop sinning is the only way to bring back the peace and blessings in your life.

God can’t bless what you pretend to be. He can’t minister to your mask. God can’t save your selfie! You may have the popularity, you may have the possessions in life, but are your losing yourself? You may have secret pleasures, but are your losing your soul? If your losing yourself; what good is it? God can only bless who you really are, not who you pretend to be. God cannot anoint your Avatar! He knows everything about you. He even knows all your thoughts and sins of your heart. The great news is He is also a loving and forgiving God and His mercies are new every morning. He will forgive you, He will help you overcome, He will never forsake you because He loves you. This Easter season which celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus, make a covenant with God that you will live for Him and turn from your sinful ways and follow His word. God can’t bless or forgive your Avatar, but He can bless and forgive you. Give Him the real “you” from your heart and the times of refreshing will return to your soul. It’s time to stop playing at life as perilous times are beginning and everyone must make a stand for Jesus in this real life God gave us. Get real with God and others and live here, not there….,
