Violence God will Punish!

The Prophet Habakkuk way back had the same concerns and questions we have today as we look around the earth and see all the violence. Listen to what he ask God in Habakkuk 1:1-4.

The oracle which Habakkuk the prophet saw. How long, O Lord, will I call for help, And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence! ”Yet You do not save. Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? Yes, destruction and violence are before me; Strife exists and contention arises. Therefore the law is ignored and justice is never upheld. For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore justice comes out perverted. Talk about what’s happening in 2015 with Islam, ISIS/ISIL all over the Middle East and North Africa and now spreading throughout the world, we have the same question today. God answers him and tells him He is raising up even worse people to deal with Israel but those enemies will be held guilty, “They whose strength is their god” those nations and people and tribes who are murdering and raping now have a day of reckoning coming and will not escape.

In chapter 2, the Lord says ” For the vision is yet for the appointed time” ” Behold, as for the proud one, his soul is not right within him, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH.” There you go they are nuts, crazy, stupid, insane, demonic, deceived, retrobate and what any other adjectives you can think of as their soul is not right within them. It’s the same today. The coming “Day of the Lord” He will make things right when He unleashes His wrath upon those wicked ones that are doing violence today. We on the other hand we are to keep on keeping on (occupy until He comes) and live by faith no matter what we see in the perilous times ahead. And secondly not let our love grow cold. “Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and founds a town with violence! IS IT NOT INDEED FROM THE LORD OF HOSTS that people’s toil for fire and the nations grow weary for nothing?” In other words the violence is not from God and He causes the plans and peoples who are opposed to Him to fail. For in a day coming “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters covers the sea.”

Israel was being judged by the brutality of the wicked because they had forsaken God and worshipped idols and even sacrificed their children in fire. Today nations are doing the same thing, even America where all sorts of idols are being worshipped, that is anything that is not God and the children of America and the world are being sacrificed by abortion killings. God says in 2:18 of Habakkuk “What profit is the idol when its maker has carved it, Or an image, a teacher of falsehood? For its maker trusts in his own handiwork when he fashions speechless idols. “Woe to him who says to a piece of wood, ‘Awake!’To a mute stone, ‘Arise!’And that is your teacher? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, And there is no breath at all inside it. “But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before Him.”

Habakkuk’s praise because of faith in God and His faithfulness must be OUR PRAISE today. Habakkuk 3:13-19 You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For the salvation of Your anointed. You struck the head of the house of the evil to lay him open from thigh to neck. Selah. You pierced with his own spears the head of his throngs. They stormed in to scatter us; Their exultation was like those who devour the oppressed in secret. You trampled on the sea with Your horses, On the surge of many waters. I heard and my inward parts trembled, At the sound my lips quivered. Decay enters my bones, And in my place I tremble. Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, For the people to arise who will invade us. Though the fig tree should not blossom and there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail and the fields produce no food,Though the flock should be cut off from the fold and there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, And makes me walk on my high places. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” and He is always faithful even when we are not. He will never forsake us and will deliver vengeance on all our enemies on that great day….keep the faith..
