Too embarrassed to go to Heaven
There are so many backslidden Christians (or people who call themselves Christians) that at one time in their life believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and were even baptized that are so far away from the Lord, it will take some serious act of God for them to repent and turn back to their first love and once again live in a restored relationship with Jesus Christ.
They are now so caught up in the worldly things like getting a new car, a new house, new and better husband or wife, and a host of material things that will not matter when they die. Some have a life of drugs, sexual immorality, and pursue only more money. Their hearts have been darkened with a cesspool of worldly pleasure. Deep down inside their thoughts flash back to the time they actually had peace and were living like real Christians. For those who really were saved at one time in their life, the hounds of heaven still pursue them and grab at their heels through many methods trying to get them to get up, wake up and look up again to the Great Almighty who loves them even in their sin and wants them back serving Him.
For one hour on Sunday, they might even play the church game, but come Monday through Saturday they spend their six days a week denying Christ. At work and with friends and family they never speak of Jesus or God. Oblivious to the moving of the Spirit. They don’t share a testimony or the good news of the gospel, and they certainly don’t speak out on social issues like homosexuality or abortion or same sex marriage or any biblical truths. Too embarrassed to let others know they are believers, they become too embarrassed to go to heaven.
The greatest of all apostles wrote in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Believers who are ashamed of Jesus and the gospel and are too embarrassed to show their belief and are probably not going to make it into the kingdom of heaven. I have mentioned in other blogs that the the first ones listed as being thrown into the lake of fire are the cowards. God has no room for cowards and neither does heaven. Jesus said in Matthew 10:32-33. Jesus said “count the cost” and “take up your cross and follow me”
“Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven. Keeping silent is denying Jesus. Hiding ones Christianity is denying Jesus. They are just too embarrassed to go to heaven.
2016 and beyond will become perilous times. Those who are closet Christians will be shaken to the core in every sphere of their lives, financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Those who have just been religious and chose to straddle the fence and only use Christianity as a means of gain and convenience will have it the worst. Those who once knew God and fell away into sin God will restore immediately with sincere repentance and prayer and faith. No matter how long they have been away or how many sins they have committed, Gods mercy last forever and ever. His grace is always available to those who ask for it. His mercy never fails and His love is not conditional. On the other hand, salvation is conditional. Conditional on faith and repentance and belief that Jesus blood covers all sin. Thousands will repent and come back home to God during the coming perilous times, but so many others are just be too embarrassed to go to heaven….
Strengthening Your Courage and Character In End Times
Courage is pressing through and doing something when you know it may be very difficult or dangerous. Knocking down walls of fear and believing God is with you to accomplish your purpose is courage. Character is what you do, how you act and think when no one is looking. Courage and Character go hand in hand in living in these last days in the 21st century.
So how do you strengthen your courage? First of all by realizing who God is and the power of His Son Jesus and applying His word directly to you personally. Reminding yourself over and over that the victory has already been won should give you great strength and courage to press on. Jesus said “it is finished” (John 19:30), just before giving up his Spirit on the cross at Calvary. What is finished? The plan of redemption for all mankind is finished, the battle is won! And what did Jesus do then? He took the keys away from Satan, the keys of death and hell and now Jesus reigns supreme for ever and ever. No longer do you have to fear death! No longer do you have to fear hell! No longer can the grave keep your body down because of Jesus who arose from the dead to live forever and ever. By Gods great mercy and grace we are saved through faith by believing in Him! ( Ephesians 2:8)
So many Christian’s unbelief of various passages of the Bible makes them faint and weak and ineffective as believers and witnesses to a dying world, and robs them of courage. Believing only fragments of certain verses. Unbelief destroys them. So what did Jesus say just before being taken up into heaven? I would think His last conversation to Believers would be very very important don’t you? Look in Mark 16:15-19 and read it without prejudice towards prior teaching you have learned.
And He (Jesus) said to them, ” Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, (were you baptized after you believed?) but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And THESE SIGNS WILL ACCOMPANY THOSE WHO BELIEVE, in my name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents (remove the danger) and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them (someone trying to poison you) they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. (healing others) ” so then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, (the group of gathered believers) was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father.” If you are a believer then you have one or more of the signs following you, so use them.
If you have a guarantee of something, say like a contract with someone whether it be a salary contract, an insurance contract, or warranties for products or services any kind of guarantee that was signed by you and the warrantor, then you can pretty much count on being covered for any problem. But there is One who gives you a guarantee and stands behind it because that guarantee was written in blood, the blood of Jesus Christ and it can never be broken. Look here what Ephesians 1:13-14 says ” In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and having believed in Him, WERE SEALED WITH THE PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT. WHO IS THE GUARANTEE OF OUR INHERITANCE until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.” So now how is your courage? Feeling stronger now? We have the guarantee of salvation and were sealed by the Holy Spirit!
Knowing Jesus has All authority in heaven and on earth, that He alone has the keys of death and hell, that His body was sacrificed in our place and that His Blood washes away our sins, and we were sealed by The Holy Spirit as a guarantee of salvation, then we can go forth in any circumstance, in any danger, in any situation, in any war, in any battle knowing whether we live or die we belong to the Lord and will live with Him forever.! So take courage my friends, wrap courage around you heart and soul and mind giving thanks to God for all He has done and walk with your head held high and your heart purified by His word knowing you belong to a kingdom not of this world because this is not your home. Take this knowledge with you, this courage with you this truth with you and tell others wherever the Good Lord leads you in 2016 and beyond…..and don’t forget He dispatches Angels on your behalf all the time, even now.
