I don’t know how I never really connected with God personally growing up with all the church services I had to attend with my parents, but it didn’t happen until much later in life in my mid twenties.
As a child I attended not only church but also vacation Bible school in the summer where I learned all about God and Jesus and how this world came about and I believed it all because it’s written in the Bible. The problem was it was all head knowledge with little or no understanding of the Spiritual side and not understanding the Holy Spirit. Oh I was baptized alright and believed but I never experienced the personal relationship because I was blind to the fact that as humans we must repent and seek God with all our hearts, then and only then will we discover the work of the Holy Spirit and how our very life changes as we allow Him to work in our lives.
Rebellious as a high school and college student, all I cared about was about myself and the pleasures I could find thinking that would make me happy. So like most I pursued anything but God, only fixated on pleasing myself. Later on things drastically changed.
The Bible says God chooses us by His grace and mercy through the Holy Spirit but we must answer the call to receive His salvation and Holy Spirit and begin a spiritual journey only He can provide after we surrender our entire lives to Him.
I had a rock n roll band and was playing clubs in five states doing two floor shows a night and living the high life or so I thought when the Holy Spirit began to call me to Jesus. It wasn’t long until I resigned from the band not knowing what I would do and started turning my heart towards God.
I won’t bore you with the details of all the tremendous ups and downs I had but know this; if you seek God with all your heart you will find Him and find the truth about salvation and life.
The Bible says these signs will follow those who believe: they will speak in tongues, they will cast out devils and they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. How many signs have followed you? Just asking. You see churches don’t teach the whole truth and haven’t for quite some time and especially don’t teach on the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit, they would rather keep the status quo and be religious without really knowing Jesus. Taking the easy way out
I have cast out devils, I have laid my hands on the sick many times and they have recovered, I have spoke in tongues, I have prophesied at times using the word of knowledge for someone. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt Jesus is real and His name is powerful. He shed His blood for our sins and was beaten for our healing.
If you don’t know Him truly but would like too, seek Him while He can be found now while your alive on this planet, after your gone there is no hope. God really did love the world and give His only Son so we could be saved and live with Him forever. Put all your trust in Jesus and He will see you through. Remember you must forgive others and yourself…
