Baby Boomers Religion

What kind of question is that you say? You would be surprised how many people actually believe it. The truth is we walk by faith, not by sight and salvation requires us to keep our faith to the very end of our lives. The Bible says many will fall away from the faith in the last days listening to doctrines of Demons. In my last blog I discussed how we are credited righteous by God when we believe from our hearts in Jesus Christ as the Son, but how important is baptism? I would venture to say so many people don’t understand baptism and many never even get baptized even though Jesus commanded it right before he went up into heaven after the resurrection. Let’s take a look….

In Colossians 2:11-15 it states:” 11In Him you were also circumcised in the putting off of your sinful nature, with the circumcision performed by Christ and not by human hands. 12And having been buried with Him in baptism, you were raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.

13When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses, 14having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. So here we see Jesus actually removes the body of our flesh by the spirit; in other words Baptism represents Removal, a putting off or laying aside of our sinful nature by FAITH when we are baptized. Thing is baptism is as much as an act of faith as believing in Jesus, the trouble is people aren’t taught that and come up out of the water just like they went in with absolutely no change in their lives and showing no fruit for the experience. You don’t get baptized to join a church or to follow a doctrine, you get baptized because Jesus said to do it. It involves believing because your baptized WITH Jesus you will be raised up WITH Jesus by faith. Can you make the resurrection then without baptism? You decide. The Bible says we are buried with Christ and rise with Christ. Immersion is the Greek form of the word baptized so I don’t think sprinkling counts. So you sprinkle dirt on a body? No you bury it. Stay with me here….

Romans 2:28 states “ 29But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God. Baptism is a circumcision from your old life as a a sinner cutting off your old lifestyles and living with a new heart and mind. “9Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.(Romans 5:9-10) see we are justified by His blood. Finally seeing the great significance of baptism in a Christians life we read Romans 6: 3-11, 14 “ 3Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 7for he who has died is freed from sin.

      8Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. 10For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

What’s the outcome? Verse 14 “For sin shall NOT be master over you, for you are not under law but under GRACE.” We will still sin at times but sin can no longer be master over us. We become freed from sin.

Have you been saved and never baptized? Why delay any longer find a church who will baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Or get someone to baptize you in their swimming pool or at a river or lakefront even a bathtub. If you’ve never been saved then repent and believe on the Lord Jesus and mean it with all your heart and confess Jesus as Lord…..an then get baptized…

Many people especially Christians, think righteousness is something gained by working hard at it, something you strive for, but it isn’t at all. Sanctification and holiness is something you strive for, but not righteousness.

True righteousness is not something derived from the law, but righteousness is imputed directly to you from God on the basis of your faith in Jesus Christ. In other words if you believe Jesus Christ is Gods Son, the Messiah, the Savior of the world and Lord, God reckons (credits) that faith you have in Jesus as righteousness. And because you are righteous then you are justified. And you are an heir of all the blessings of Abraham. That seems impossible but it is the truth. Let’s take a look…

Abraham was not Jewish at the time when he became the father of faith. He was 99 years old when he was circumcised and God made the old covenant and the nation of Israel began to form. So as God had planned it, Abraham became the father of many nations as a gentile and on the basis of faith God approved him as righteous because he believed God. He didn’t become righteous by sacrificing bulls and lambs, he became righteous by his faith. James 2:23 says “and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,” and he was called the friend of God.

Now look at Philippians 3:9 and notice the Apostle Paul said that he didn’t have a righteousness of his own derived from the Law (the old covenant) but we have through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of FAITH! So you and me are both righteous because we have faith in Jesus. It’s not an earned thing we do, it’s by the Grace of God. Are you getting this? I hope so.

Now the Apostles taught this gospel, this word of faith and said in Romans 10:9,10; “

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

for with the heart a person believes, resulting in RIGHTEOUSNESS, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in SALVATION.

I am righteous and you are righteous if you believe from your heart in Christ. Isn’t that great news? In the new covenant as in the old God reckons our faith, our belief in Jesus as righteousness. The new covenant is the blood of Jesus, which He shed for all mankind. It was paid once and for all.

“ and having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation , being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. (Heb. 5:9) THEREFORE He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”(Heb. 7:25) Repent and confess Jesus as Lord if you haven’t already done so and you too will be righteous.

“Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)

“ And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.” (Heb. 9:27-28)

Now your job is to live a sanctified and holy life free of sexual immorality, to love God and your neighbor as yourself.

“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” (Romans 4:20-25) Do you now understand how we are saved by grace through our Faith in Jesus? And that faith comes from God and is not of ourselves but freely given to those who believe…Stop trying to earn salvation by doing things from yourself to please God. Have faith and Love Him and your neighbor and abstain from sexual immorality and get baptized as Jesus commanded….

God Has had Enough

Isaiah prophesied in the time between 740 B.C. to 681 B.C and the book of Isaiah remains one of the most quoted books of the Bible, but few, however; understand its significance in proclaiming that God takes takes no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats and sacrifices, but one was coming who would be the Ultimate sacrifice for sins of the people.

God was fed up with the hypocrisy of practicing religion and bringing offerings while living very sinful lives. Does that ring a bell? Look at America and Europe, it’s worse today than ever. He said it this way: “ Bring your worthless offerings no longer,

            Incense is an abomination to Me.

            New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies—

            I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly.

      14“I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,

            They have become a burden to Me;

            I am weary of bearing them.

      15“So when you spread out your hands in prayer,

            I will hide My eyes from you;

            Yes, even though you multiply prayers,

            I will not listen.

            Your hands are covered with blood.

It’s the same today worshipers full of iniquity and full of unrepented sin pretending everything is ok as they attend solemn assembly’s on Sunday mornings. So what does the Lord say to them? “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;

            Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.

            Cease to do evil,

      17Learn to do good;

            Seek justice,

            Reprove the ruthless,

            Defend the orphan,

            Plead for the widow.

He’s telling us the same thing today repent repent repent of your hidden sins and do good and stop being evil, then lift up holy hands in worship and prayer and He will hear you.

Come now, and let us reason together,”

            Says the LORD,

            “Though your sins are as scarlet,

            They will be as white as snow;

            Though they are red like crimson,

            They will be like wool.

      19“If you consent and obey,

            You will eat the best of the land;

      20“But if you refuse and rebel,

            You will be devoured by the sword.”

            Truly, the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Devoured by the sword? How about war and nukes today? Whether it’s 700 B.C. or 2019 sin is still sin and hypocrisy is still hypocrisy and justice is still justice.

Prophecy about Jesus is so clear in Isaiah 53 it’s mind blowing how Jewish people and others for that matter couldn’t see it, the plain truth right in front of your face:

“ He has no stately form or majesty

            That we should look upon Him,

            Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.

      3He was despised and forsaken of men,

            A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;

            And like one from whom men hide their face

            He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

      4Surely our griefs He Himself bore,

            And our sorrows He carried;

            Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,

            Smitten of God, and afflicted.

      5But He was pierced through for our transgressions,

            He was crushed for our iniquities;

            The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,

            And by His scourging we are healed.

      6All of us like sheep have gone astray,

            Each of us has turned to his own way;

            But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all

            To fall on Him.

      7He was oppressed and He was afflicted,

            Yet He did not open His mouth;

            Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,

            And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,

            So He did not open His mouth.

      8By oppression and judgment He was taken away;

            And as for His generation, who considered

            That He was cut off out of the land of the living

            For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?

      9His grave was assigned with wicked men,

            Yet He was with a rich man in His death,

            Because He had done no violence,

            Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

      10But the LORD was pleased

            To crush Him, putting Him to grief;

            If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,

            He will see His offspring,

            He will prolong His days,

            And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.

      11As a result of the anguish of His soul,

            He will see it and be satisfied;

            By His knowledge the Righteous One,

            My Servant, will justify the many,

            As He will bear their iniquities.

      12Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great,

            And He will divide the spoils with the strong;

            Because He poured out Himself to death,

            And was numbered with the transgressors;

            Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,

            And interceded for the transgressors.”

Jesus is the answer to life….and the afterlife…

If you believe in The Creator and His Son Jesus then you should be born again of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, which enters you when you believe from you heart. And if you believe from you heart then you will have also been baptized in water as He commanded. And if you have been baptized in water, then your commitment to live right must follow or it’s all just a sham. Now back in the day as a youth , I believed Jesus was Gods Son and I also was baptized, but nothing really changed in my life. Why not? Because I really didn’t believe all things become new; I didn’t sincerely repent, I was just following what religion was telling me to do. Later on in high school I got baptized again and still nothing changed so I pretty much blew religion off and just lived for myself thinking none of this works.

I was wrong because much later on in life I actually started seeking the truth with all my heart. Forgetting everything I had been taught I bought myself a bible and began reading it and studying it for myself. What I found out was exactly what Jesus said “ you must be born again of the Spirit to see the kingdom of God” and how does that happen? Well it’s not by practicing religion and following their set of rules, it can only happen by Gods Grace through your faith in the truth of the Bible. And that truth is Jesus loves us and died for us and rose again and is coming again. Our part is to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord after believing it from our heart and making a decision to follow Him with water baptism and then to do our best to live for him.

I’ll never forget how clean I felt and how wonderful it was to finally get saved. I finally got it. It didn’t stop there as I continued to study the Bible I saw many things I never saw before and was not taught about that are as true today in 2019 as they were in 33 A.D. those promises of God are for us today as God is no respecter of persons or of generations as His loving kindness is from generation to generation. What promises are still true for us today? All of them. These include being forgiven, being healed of sicknesses, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and all the gifts of the Spirit given to all of His choosing. Nine gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12 are: word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith,gifts of healing, effecting of miracles, prophecy, distinguishing of spirits, various kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues. All given by the same Spirit distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

For by one Spirit we were ALL baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were made to drink of one Spirit. The Holy Spirit! “ Jesus Christ is the Same yesterday, today and forever. “ So there you go it’s up to you to believe the or not. Now many who do not know God or his Spirit will argue about every detail and try to tear down your beliefs but the thing is they can’t because the Holy Spirit within you knows the truth and you have seen with your spiritual eyes and your physical eyes on occasion. Once your knower inside know ( your spirit ) no one can lie to you anymore. Nor can you lie to yourself because the Holy Spirit tells you the truth and He lives inside you and never leaves you. That’s why Jesus said “ I will never leave you or forsake you” because He is always there through the Holy Spirit.

The great apostle Paul said “my message and my preaching was not with persuasive words of wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit and of Power” what demonstration of the Spirit and of power do we show people today? Probably not much because we don’t pursue the gifts as we are commanded to do. “But desire earnestly that you prophecy” you don’t desire earnestly because you don’t believe it? God help us in our unbelief.

I have told many people of Gods great grace of healings that have transpired over the years in my life and true believers believe but others look at at me like a deer looking into headlights which is very sad to me. You’ll never understand the working of the Spirit unless you have Him inside. I certainly don’t understand why some are healed and others are not or why I’m healed one time and not another and must see a doctor which is rare. All I know is Gods word is true and I believe it, all of it.

What I do know is Satan or his demons prowl looking for someone to devour. And what did Jesus tell the disciples? “Pray that you may not come into temptation” we must pray daily not sometimes, because this is no game it’s real life.

Some preachers say everything will be perfect when you come to Jesus, wrong! It’s much much better of course but living for God will cost you something maybe even your life! Through the storms of life you have peace because you know Jesus is there with you. The storms and the testing of your faith isn’t easy but they make your stronger and humble you to the point you finally realize it’s all about Jesus and what He did for us nothing is about us. We are just passing through so never give up and if you have then come back home where you belong, Jesus is still there. God told Israel repent and turn back to me and I will receive you. That’s exactly the same for us today. God still loves you..and the greatest gift is receiving Jesus….

Why troubles come your way

Why troubles come your way

King David wrote “ Before I was afflicted, I went astray;

but now I keep Your word.” (Psalms 119:67)

Think about what this means. King David had it all and everything going for him, but then he went astray and all hell broke lose in his life. Just how did he go astray?

On a beautiful day he stood on his rooftop and looking down saw the most beautiful woman naked and bathing. She just happened to be a married woman named Bathsheba, but that didn’t matter, he had to have her. The temptation was great and he yielded at that moment. In stead of changing his mind sin overtook him and he had her brought to him. At his palace he entered into a sexual relationship with her and Bathsheba got pregnant.

Her husband Uriah was a solder and in command of many men and was away fighting so King David had him summoned from the battlefield to go to his wife (to cover up their affair) and lay with his wife, but Uriah would not go into her because his men were fighting on the battlefield and he didn’t think it was right so he slept on the porch instead. David’s plan didn’t work so to make matters worse he had Uriah sent back, but this time to the front lines so he would be killed and sure enough he was killed. Now David had blood on his hands with murder in Gods eyes for what he had done.

David then took her into his household and she became his wife. Nathan the prophet was sent to David and told him a parable and ask what he would do to the man and David said this man must die. Then the profit said to David “you are that man!” This is what the Lord said to David as written in II Samual 12:7-18; “I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8I gave your master’s house to you and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you the house of Israel and Judah, and if that was not enough, I would have given you even more.

9Why then have you despised the command of the LORD by doing evil in His sight? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife as your own, for you have slain him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’

11This is what the LORD says: ‘I will raise up adversity against you from your own house. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to another, and he will lie with them in broad daylight. 12You have acted in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”

David’s Loss and Repentance

13Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.”

“The LORD has taken away your sin,” Nathan replied. “You will not die. 14Nevertheless, because by this deed you have treated the LORD with utter contempt, the son born to you will surely die.”

15After Nathan had gone home, the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife had borne to David, and he became ill. 16David pleaded with God for the boy. He fasted and went into his house and spent the night lying in sackclothc on the ground. 17The elders of his household stood beside him to help him up from the ground, but he was unwilling and would not eat anything with them.

18On the seventh day the child died.

God forgave David’s sin but tragedies followed his household. In Gods Grace he gave David and Bathsheba another son named Solomon who became the wisest and wealthiest King ever in Israel. Once again, what did David write in Psalms 119: 67? “Before I was afflicted, I went astray;but now I keep Your word.” And so it is with all of us. When we stray from the Lord and sin we get afflicted in various ways and means until we wake up and repent from our hearts and live right again like we did when we first met the Lord. Crazy as it might sound, the Lord allows things because of His great love for us. “ do no take lightly the discipline of the Lord.”

In Revelation 2 Jesus said to the church at Ephesus “ 4But I have this against you: You have abandoned your first love. 5Therefore, keep in mind how far you have fallen. Repent and perform the deeds you did at first. But if you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. REPENT AND PERFORM THE DEEDS YOU DID AT FIRST! That could mean getting re-baptized as well if you have fallen far away and are coming back home where you belong into the arms of Jesus. Everyone must examine himself to see what is right according to the scriptures. As the Bible says we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling as our God is a consuming fire……

Don’t fear in 2019

To my brothers and sisters in Christ I implore you not to fear what you hear and what you see coming, but fear God who is able to cast souls into hell. Perfect love cast out all fear and the one who fears is not perfected in love, because fear involves punishment and there IS none for those who have made Jesus both Savior and Lord! There awaits only glory for us, free from sin and corruption and sickness and death in an eternal heaven with God, with His Son and myriads of saints and angels abiding forever and ever where love resides and there is no sin.

Now let the things of this world grow dim, forsaking that sin that sometimes entangles you. walk in forgiveness and abundant faith knowing all your brothers and sisters in Christ suffer the very same temptations and trials that you do. But realize Jesus is able to deliver us from evil and deliver our souls to the Father in heaven. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

You know that the Love of money is the root of all evil which causes souls to chase after it for power and wealth and sexual perversion and every sin that can be named. It all stems from the love of money. Steer clear of that wickedness of the love of money and give a portion of your money to do good works and to the poor. Stop coveting things like the world does always wanting bigger and newer and better things when your money could be put to much better use spreading the good news around the world. All of us have fallen into this trap at one time or another and reaped the binding stress of debt that our love of credit provides because we just had to have things immediately. Now is the time to get out of debt before the coming worldwide Financial crash occurs and time is running out.

Are you praying the Lord’s Prayer daily? Are you talking to God throughout the day? Have you asked God for directions to complete His will for you on earth before you leave? What about giving thanks for all He has done for you? If we are living and breathing and have a roof over our heads and clothes to wear and food to eat and transportation isn’t that enough to give our Creator praise and thanks? How

much we forget all the little things He does for us and take things for granted. In 2019 ask God to send someone by your life that you can lead to Christ. Perhaps family or friends or even a total stranger. Can you be a Bold Christian in 2019 and teach someone about the Love of Jesus or will you just lean back and relax? Time is short and it’s time for Christians to be bold and fight the good fight of faith. When you get to heaven how many will you bring with you? You can witness anywhere you go or by any means you can. Use the Internet, start a blog if need be, just do something for Christ in 2019 and if you can’t then give to a ministry you know that is preaching the gospel that you trust. Let people including, your enemies see a change in you that reflects the love of God and boldness they have never seen before. “Let your light so shine that men will see the light and turn and glorify Our God in heaven. Yes it will cost you something, perhaps ridicule or mocking or persecution but know that if it does, Gods blessing rest upon you. You may be the only person that ever witnessed salvation to them in their life. Even if they reject you, the witness will penetrate their soul and they won’t forget it. We must all do better in 2019 because time is short and perilous times are coming very soon. Do your part and I will do mine and together we will help bring in the final harvest of souls into the kingdom……

Human nature is self protective; no one wants to die unless they have serious mental issues. We all want to preserve our lives as long as possible and live peacefully without war or famine or pestilence enjoying ourselves with family and friends and relatives. That’s very normal but in today’s world it sometimes seems Death is just around the corner lurking to take us out by some disaster or disease or lawless act or war. We rationalize that only happens to other people not us but regardless we all know what’s inevitable and that is someday in the future our life will be over and our life here on earth will end. Younger ones hardly give it a thought, they live like they will last forever. Older ones see the clock ticking and it’s coming quickly which brings me to the point of this blog, are you ready to go? Do you live your life like this could be your last day? Probably not for most.

Jesus said in the gospel book of John “You must be born again to see the kingdom of heaven” that is your Spirit must be born again. Now you can debate all you want the various doctrines of the Bible and all the churches doctrines but the bottom line is this: you must be born again of the Spirit or you will never see heaven. How do you know you’ve been born again? Gods Spirit bears witness with your spirit that your born again. This means if you don’t know or have the witness inside yourself you’re in dangerous territory and the outcome of your afterlife experience is in grave doubt. Now I’m not at all talking about superficial acts like water baptism or church attendance, in other words those acts done on the surface to fulfill a doctrine, I’m talking about a hunger for God, a full surrender of your life to the Lord Jesus Christ without holding back your favorite sins and any fleshly desire which brings me another point. If you said a fifteen second prayer called the sinners prayer in most camps without fully repenting of your sins from your heart giving your life totally to Jesus, then it means nothing, your just fooling yourself. No you must be born again and know it inside.

How does this happen? By doing what Jesus said to do: confess your sins and call on the name of the Lord meaning call out to God from inside your heart for God to forgive you and save you through His Son Jesus confessing you believe that Jesus is His Son and paid your sin penalty of eternal death in hell by dying on the cross and shedding His blood and believing He rose again and is coming again. Now if you will do this and mean it with all your heart the Spirit of God will come into your spirit and things will change and you will know you’ve been born again. After this get water baptized as this is a direct commandment from Jesus. This shows you have committed your life to Him in likeness of His death symbolizing burial and resurrection. However; remember we are all baptized into one body by the Spirit of God. You must be born again!

Now when you are born again your spirit is sealed for the day of redemption says Ephesians 4:30 so now your old man is dead, your new in the spirit. Since you already died why would you fear death? That sinful man or woman died and now you live for Christ not for yourself any longer. No reason to fear your body dying, you’ll just cross over and go home to heaven.

But what if you’ve sinned a lot since you know for sure you were born again at one point? Then repent and mean it repent a lot and mean it and live Holy the best you can. If you blow it, repent again and never stop repenting and surrendering your life to Christ. Jesus will finish what He started in you and will never leave you or forsake you. He said no one is able to take them out of my hand or the Fathers hand as the Father is greater than He.

Make up your mind you will live for God and know you will be mocked and ridiculed by others and may even be persecuted but remember if they hated Jesus they will hate you, that is the worldly people. Once your born again Nothing can separate you from the love of God, nothing! And as this world heads towards a one world government and wickedness as in the days of Noah, God has a remnant of believers and His Holy Spirit will cover the earth. If you lose your life you will save it but if you try to save your life you will lose it in the end. Jesus said” be faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life.” A Christian should not fear death but embrace it as it means we’re heading home. Whatever you see on this earth remember this is not your home. We are strangers and Aliens on this planet because our kingdom is not of this world, we’re just passing through…
