Losing the Fear of Death

As a Christian we should not have a fear of death. Of course it is human nature to protect ones life and we absolutely should do so because we are the temple of God and His Spirit dwells within us. We are told not to destroy our temple as we are born again to do good works. There are so many things that we do that destroy our temple which you are well aware of as your flesh fights against your spirit waging war. Jesus said ” the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” We actually do the things we don’t want to do the Apostle Paul wrote because of one reason, “sin dwells within us.” And who can rescue us from this body of death, only Jesus Christ and Him alone.

Now concerning the fear of death it is written that “Perfect love cast out fear” Because fear involves punishment and the one who fears is not perfected in love. How is someone perfected in love? For starters we must love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul and minds. Then we must love our neighbors as ourselves. The Bible says how can we say we love God who we have not seen and hate our brothers who we have seen? So learning to love is paramount in our Christian life and it is a Decision, Not an Emotion! We can decide to love God, we decide to love our neighbors no matter what the circumstances and relationships are because we say to ourselves; God loves them and they were created in His image and He is not willing that anyone should perish, but wants them to have eternal life. There is none righteous, no not one, we were born into sin in this life because of the fall in the beginning.

If you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that when you die your going straight up to heaven and have that assurance in your heart, then why would you fear death or what man can do to you? The answer is your either not perfected in love yet or you are unsure of your salvation. You can be sure you know by faith in what Jesus did in the cross. “For we are saved by His grace through faith, not of works lest anyone should boast.” Let’s take a quick look at eternal, everlasting life guarantees written to us in the Bible. Jesus speaking said:

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” (John 5:24) Really is there any need to go on? You pass from death to life when you believe that God sent Jesus to offer Himself up for us.

Maybe you need more so how about this verse: “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you HAVE eternal life.(1 John 5:13) So that you may Know not hope but know! And here’s another: Whoever believes in the Son HAS eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.(John 3:36) HAS eternal life means you possess it right now and it’s granted now while your alive and when you die there is no doubt your going to heaven.

And another one:

“In him we HAVE redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” (Ephesians 1:7) and here is a list of other verses not that you need them.

“In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation– having also believed, you were SEALED in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge (guarantee) of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14)

And this one: “But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning FAITH that we proclaim: that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED; For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and ARE SAVED.(Romans 10:8-10)

“Who through faith are PROTECTED BY GODS POWER for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.(1Peter 3:5)

” For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of IMPERISHABLE , through the living and enduring word of God.”(1 Peter 1:23)

” For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2Tim 2:7)

I could go on and on with tons of verses, but you have seen with your own eyes that you have a home in heaven and you have eternal, everlasting security by faith in Jesus and nothing will rob you of your place in heaven. Don’t fear death even if you have to lay your life down for your faith because those times are coming and for many already have come. Jesus will never let you go and loves you so.

No matter what happens on this earth; wars or floods or famine or earthquakes or tornado’s or hurricanes or plagues or death or lawlessness or any other thing can separate us from the Love of God and our gift of salvation through Jesus Christ

Let me end this blog with a quote from Jesus: ” And this

is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose NONE of all those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day.

For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have ETERNAL LIFE, and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:39-49)

Jesus has always lived

Many people have heard that Jesus is the Son of God and was born of the virgin Mary. But how many stop and realize that He was with the Father before He took on the form of human flesh? Many references in the old testament speak of the coming Messiah. I’d like to show a couple that prove He was with the Father from The days of eternity. In the Old Testament (or the first covenant) in the book of Micah chapter 5 it reads; “But I asked for you Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth from Me to be the ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.” Therefore He will give them up until the time when she who is in labor has born a child. Here we see that Messiah Jesus Christ came from the days of eternity and was with the father all the time. When the prophesied time came, God the father put Him in the belly of Mary as human flesh and He gave up his dwelling place in heaven with the father to become a man and become our propitiation (our sacrifice ) the one who takes our place to save us from our sins. Jesus obeyed the father and did this willingly out of pure agape love, love that man cannot comprehend or understand until he is born again.
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us, and the government will rest upon His shoulders and His name will be called wonderful Counselor, mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of peace; there will be no end to the increase of his government or of peace, On the throne of David and over His kingdom to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forever more.” Here we see in the statement He is Eternal Father, Prince of peace. Jesus is eternal and one with the Father, has always been and always will be. The kingdom in this passage refers to the kingdom of God that Jesus set up when He came and lived among us died and was resurrected. The kingdom of God is forever and ever and ever.
In Exodus 3:2 Messiah Jesus is called the angel of the Lord and it is He who appeared in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush that Moses saw, the bush that did not burn up or was consumed. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.
Turning to the new testament or new covenant in John chapter 8 verse 57,58 Jesus speaking to the Jews said “your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day and he saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to him you are not yet 50 years old and you have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them “truly truly I say to you before Abraham was born I am.” So here Jesus himself says that he was around way before Abraham was even born in the heavens with the father and the angels. Notice he said before Abraham was Born “I Am.” The very same phrase that Moses heard from the burning bush when he asked God who shall I say that sent me and God says I am that I am, tell them I am sent you.
Looking further in John chapter 1 we read “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God He was in the beginning with God, all things came into being through Him and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life and the life was the light of men. Here we see the messiah Jesus Christ is the living word of God and that every thing that has ever been created or come into existence was created through him. Messiah Jesus Christ the Only begotten Son of the living God is the voice of the Father. It goes on to say that He is the light of the world and as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name who are born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man but of God. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. They saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. For the law was given through Moses grace and truth we realized through Jesus Christ. Now if Jesus is the only begotten Son of God then there can be no other, no other God at all, no other name under heaven in which we must be saved! No one has seen God at any time the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father He has explained Him. God is spirit, no man has ever seen God in his existence, his spirit being. Yet He assumed visible form which men saw in Old Testament times and in Jesus, man could see God. Christ gives life He gives grace and truth. John the Baptist stated “behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world” and in him messiah Jesus Christ we live and move and have our being (exist)for we are his offspring (children), born again by the Spirit of God.
This my friends is why Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life and no man can come to the father except by me. This my friends is also why Christianity is the right way because only Christianity has the Son of God Jesus Christ as the cornerstone for salvation. Without him Jesus you cannot know the Father, you cannot come to the Father, you cannot be saved and born of the spirit and you’ll be lost. If you put your trust in other gods like Allah or Buddha or Hinduism or any other false god, you cannot be born again and go to heaven and know the only true God, the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Jesus said you must be born again. For the wind blows and you hear the sound of it but do not know where it comes from or where it is going, so is everyone born of the Spirit of God. This my friends is why there so much hatred against Christians and Christianity and in the name of Jesus and the cross; because it is the only way to heaven period. The demons of hell blind those souls so they won’t be saved. But to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you shall be saved and the scales will fall off of your eyes. That’s God’s promise. Allah doesn’t love you, Buddha doesn’t love you nor any other false gods of hundreds of other religions. Those religions want domination by rules and works, but Jesus really does love you. God the Father really does love you. The One true God doesn’t want sacrifice of yourself or your life. He says don’t you know “I require mercy and not sacrifice?” Jesus said the Father and I are One and if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. Jesus is the perfect representation of the father. You must be born again to see the kingdom of heaven. Are you born again? You have the witness within yourself. If your not then repent of your sins, believe that Jesus is Gods Son and died in your place, give your life to Him and get baptized as He commanded. He will not leave you as orphans but will come to you when you call upon his name. Do it today do it now, come into His kingdom and we’ll meet in heaven…..

The Stain of Sin

Every sin in our lives leaves a stain. Some stains are very big and some not so big, but none the less the stains are there. Those stains remind us of our failures and things we wish we had never done or didn’t do. The enemy of our souls reminds us continually through out our lives about the stains and try’s to convince us they will never go away, that they are permanent and there is no hope. That of course is a lie from the very pit of hell.

Everyone at one time or another has spilled something on a carpet, maybe food, a drink or something else. We get soap or cleaner and try to clean it up. Perhaps we steam clean it several times, but somehow the outline of the stain is still there or has changed the texture or color of the carpet. At gatherings at our house maybe a guest spills a drink and we say it’s ok, we’ll clean it up. And many times we use a miracle cleaner and “poof” just like that the stain is gone with no lingering after effects or lines or outline that a stain ever existed. What a relief that is to us !

But how many realize that the stain of sin is completely removed by Jesus? He not only forgives us our sins when we confess them from our hearts but he removes the stain of those sins and remembers them no more! How wonderful is the verses in the bible that state “as far as the east is from the west” He will remove our sins. And how about “though your sins are like crimson they shall be as white as snow” Crimson is the deepest darkest red on the planet, yet Jesus says if you will pray and believe Him, He will wipe them all away, changing Crimson to White as snow and there’s nothing whiter than white snow. He also mentions “I will remember them no more”, wow what a blessing and what kind of loving God do we serve? A God that loves us so intently, so mercifully, His grace saves us through faith in His only begotten Son who laid down His life willingly for us. The bible says “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” in God’s merciful plan of the ages, Jeaus shed His blood which washes away all of our sin and removes the stains those sins caused. Therefore  we are born again by His Spirit and become brand new. Imagine “all things are passed away and all things become new, how awesome is that?

Even so we sometimes fail and sin but because the old sins have been removed and the old stains are gone we can we can “come boldly to Gods throne of grace in times of need.” If God ask us to forgive others seventy times seven or four hundred and ninety times for the same thing, don’t you know He will forgive you the same amount of times if you get up and don’t give up and keep trying? Those old sins are gone and so are the stains so keep looking up to Jesus and know how much He loves you…..
