When your young sin is exciting, sin is fun. As you grow older that sin is not so much fun and exciting any longer, it actually becomes a heavy load to carry and in many cases becomes an addiction. Case in point is fornication which later becomes adultery. Or seemingly just a little sin of the coming of age like pornography, becomes an obsession and addiction that is harder to break than an addiction of cocaine. Studies show your brain appears just like a cocaine addicts brain on an MRI because it also causes a chemical change in your body and the craving is unstoppable to most and actually more deadly than drugs. Why? Because the sin of the flesh ruins lives, breaks up marriages, causes lost jobs, sexual dysfunctions, health conditions and especially mental anguish and finally depression. All of this is caused by our own self walking into the sin of choice. The devil didn’t make you do it, you do it to yourself and open the door for the devil to snare you and rope you and try to tie you up so you believe there is no way out, no hope, and no freedom. And paranoia grips your soul sweating it out if you’ll be found out and your life will be ruined. And you know what? You will be eventually found out unless you take ownership of your sins and repent and walk away from them. “The wages of sin is death” Death of all the things you once held dear up to and including you very own life.
Even the Bible speaks of the pleasures of sin quoting: “choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin”(Hebrews 11:25) There is a way out, fall on your knees and cry out to God for forgiveness and He will forgive you of any and every sin you have ever committed no matter how horrible they may have been, but you must mean it from your heart not just your head. All who call on the name of Jesus will be saved as you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is the Messiah, the Son of God and is coming again to receive his own.
Any one including any Christian that pretends they have it all together and don’t sin are deceiving themselves. “ all have sinned and come short of the glory” that includes Pastors, Priest and everyday people. We need forgiveness everyday of our lives and pray that because “the heart of man is desperately wicked who can know it” and God looks on our hearts nothing else.
